Eid Mubarak to you and your family.
The MTA hopes you enjoy a wonderful day after a month of long days of fasting.
The Muslim Teachers’ Association has been involved in a variety of activities including training events that have been well received and the feedback from each of the events has been really positive.
The MTA has mentored and supported individual colleagues on a range of issues. We have attended a range of events and conferences where we have represented your views and worked with ASCL (the head teachers union) to produce guidance for schools on ‘Ramadan and Examinations’.
At this time of great change in the government, and a rise in hate crime, we are keen to support any colleagues who are facing challenges during this difficult time. We are keen to hear from MTA colleagues about the best way of supporting you, do let us know.
Information about two events later this month:
- We are holding an Eid celebration on Wednesday 13th July at Saffron Kitchen in Leyton at 6.30. More details at www.mta-uk.org/news/eid-dinner-2016
- On Sunday 31st July at 7.30 at JW3 in Finchley, Nisa-Nashim is holding a teachers’ event where Jewish and Muslim teachers will come together to discuss how we can work together in the future. This builds on the really positive cooking event we held last year to feed the homeless. More details can be found at www.mta-uk.org/news/nisa-nashim-teachers-group and www.nisanashim.org
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you a good end of term and a great summer holiday.
With very best wishes to you all.
