On Monday 11 January Trustees and friends at Collaboration House held a reception to welcome the new Anglican President, the Rt Revd Dr Toby Howarth, Bishop of Bradford to The Christian Muslim Forum.
Bishop Toby is very well respected in Christian-Muslim circles and beyond and The Christian Muslim Forum is looking forward to working with him as the Forum is re-shaped over the next few months.
Shaykh Ibrahim, Bishop Paul Hendricks (Co-Chairs) and Anjum Anwar complete the team of trustees, with Philip Littlejohn supporting.
The Muslim Teachers’ Association has had links with the Christian Muslim Forum for the last 8 years and looks forward to working with them in the future.
Aims and Objectives of the Christian Muslim Forum are to:
- Weave a web of open, honest and committed personal relationships between Christians and Muslims;
- Encourage shared reflection on the spiritual, theological, scholarly, ethical and practical values of the two traditions in order to offer resources for citizenship in our society;
- Build a shared public platform to strengthen Christians and Muslims working together for the common good in partnership with others;
- Develop channels of communication to help Christians and Muslims together to respond to events which test our relationship.
In all this work the forum seeks to remain faithful to our own commitment as Christians and Muslims while growing in our relationship with each other, understanding of each other’s tradition, and our ability to work together for the good of our communities and society as a whole.
